A team has investigated over 26,000 white dwarfs, confirming the predicted trend that hotter white dwarfs are slightly puffier than cooler ones, even at the same mass.

Astronomers have taken the first close-up picture of a star outside of the milky way. WOH G64, also known as the “behemoth star” has been imaged using the European Southern Observatory’s Very Large Telescope (ESO’s VLT).
