Very much appreciated Simon as I did spend rather a lot of time on umpteen versions before deciding to post. I think there was about 15 hours of good data as well to work with when you combine all the data from M16 and the Eagle nebula. Cheers, Ray

Hello John that is so good to hear that from you, someone who has had multiple APOD's starting from at least 2008, if not earlier. The luminance I used was a blend of 70% SII and 30 % Ha.
Your article titled "Narrow Band Imaging - What is it all About", is a great introduction I was grateful to draw knowledge from, still relevant today. Cheers Ray
