It is classified as a dwarf spheroidal galaxy (dSph) and is notable for its relatively close proximity to our galaxy and its intriguing stellar population. Approximately 460,000 light-years away from earth. The Fornax Dwarf Galaxy is gravitationally bound to the Milky Way, making it one of its many satellite galaxies.
