GUM 37

This is an image of GUM 37. IT is an emission nebula about 9,000 light years away in the southern constellation Carina. The nebula is formed by radiation from the nearby star cluster NGC 3572. The nebula spans about 100 light years and the radiation from the stars will most likely cause the nebula to disperse in a few million years.
