IC 1396 - The Elephant Trunk Nebula
This is an image of IC 1396, also known as the Elephant Trunk Nebula. The Elephant Trunk Nebula is actually IC 1396A, the long dark nebula running from the top to about the middle of the blue region. This nebula is about 2,400 light years away in the constellation Cepheus.
