The Lobster and the Cat's Paw
The Lobster and the Cat's Paw
Embedded in the southern milky way are a series of bright nebulae, including these two: NGC 6357, the 'Lobster', and NGC 6334, the 'Cat's Paw'.
The data were taken through narrow-band HSO filters, but i struggled to get to a hubble-palette rendition that satisfied me. The composition offered here is pseudo-RGB, highlighting the ionized hydrogen that pervades this region.

Amazing...have you tried the CFHT palette it might be a better color composition than this one

Actually, i didn't. CFHT is one of several palettes that i normally experiment with, though i generally end up preferring either SHO or pseudo-RGB ; but to be honest, i'd been playing with this dataset for a while, and wasn't seeing a way to a really good image -- and gave up! But i'll have another look -- thanks for the nudge!
Went through the gamut (pun intended!) of palettes and liked all of them less than this one.
