NGC 6946 - The Fireworks Galaxy
This is an image of NGC 6946, also known as the Fireworks Galaxy. It is a face-on spiral galaxy about 25 million light years away in the constellation Cepheus and Cygnus. It has a diameter of about 40,000 light years, about one third the size of the Milky Way, and is part of the Virgo supercluster.
