NGC 7000

This image is my interpretation of the North America and Pelican Nebulae dataset, submitted for the March 2024 astrophotography competition. I've chosen not to crop the extensive field of view in order to include the bright star Deneb. Advanced image processing techniques were utilized to extract the subtle O[III] halo surrounding Deneb—a complex task due to the star's intense luminosity. For a distinct aesthetic, I opted for the Foraxx Palette over the traditional Hubble Palette. This choice was aimed at highlighting the ionized elements, which has resulted in the remarkable contrast and depth that are apparent in this image.
