The Witch Head Nebula
This is an image of IC 2118, also known as the Witch Head Nebula. It is a reflection nebula about 1,000 light years away in the constellation Orion. Radio observations show substantial carbon monoxide emission throughout parts of IC 2118, an indicator of the presence of molecular clouds and star formation in the nebula.
