Ok, I’ve got my target session plan (and a backup plan) optimized to make the most of the nights that are getting longer.

Today I wanted to talk about stuff that just doesn't get imaged much, and why advanced requests are awesome for going after the unusual.

With exams starting this week, I've not had much time to do any deep-sky but I was able to create this image of the Sun using my new Quark filter and ASI 174mm!

My last post talked about an under appreciated and really fundamental skill for astro imagers; guiding. Marco Rocchetto was kind enough to leave a very informative comment on my post that gave me pause.

One of the basic skills I did not fully appreciate when I first waded into the deep pool of astro imaging was guiding.

In previous articles I covered the early processing steps, like cosmetic correction and linear defect removal. I talked about stacking but missed mentioning star alignment.
