NGC 2070
NGC 2070
NGC 2070 or the Tarantula Nebula is an HII region in the Large Magellanic Cloud which is a satellite galaxy of our Milkyway. This is a very active region about 160,000 light years away from us. This image is processed in Hubble palette (SHO) which means it was taking using narrowband filters that lets in very specific wavelength of light for the emission gasses. During processing, Sulphur emission light is mapped as red, Hydrogen as green and Oxygen as blue. This makes the image very interesting to look at but at the same time makes identification of the gasses lot easier.
