Comet 29P/Schwassmann–Wachmann is a fascinating and unique object in the Solar System. It orbits the Sun in a near-circular path beyond Jupiter with a period of approximately 15 years. Unlike traditional comets, which develop tails when they approach the Sun, 29P's activity stems from cryovolcanism. This process involves the sublimation of volatile gases like carbon monoxide and nitrogen beneath its icy crust, creating pressure that leads to explosive eruptions.
