NGC 1737
NGC 1737 is an emission nebula, part of a larger complex of star-forming regions in the LMC known as N180. This complex includes other emission nebulae, star clusters, and even supernova remnants. In 2010, astronomers discovered a supernova remnant within the N180 complex, very close to NGC 1737. This supernova, named SN 1987A, was one of the brightest supernovae observed in centuries and provided valuable data for understanding these stellar explosions.
