Sh2-24 and 27 in grayscale
In the sea of reflection nebulae in western Ophiuchus there are scattered a few emission nebulae. This photo is a combination of luminance and Halpha frames showing the northern part of Sh2-27 and the smaller and fainter Sh2-24 (right center). Epsilon Oph is the over exposed star at the top with delta just off the frame.
