Mark Johnston
I have been fascinated by the night sky since I ‘discovered’ Saturn with my 60mm refractor at the age of 10. An APOD-winning astrophotographer, I have been published in Sky & Telescope, Astronomy Magazine, and Space.com. As a NASA Solar System Ambassador, I have conducted thousands of public outreach programs and am a registered cruise ship speaker on astronomy and space science, as well as a Director of the Phoenix Astronomical Society. I frequently post astrophotography images, news, and tutorials on social media. My solar imaging and videos are particularly popular, and I have conducted extensive research on solar cameras and solar image processing techniques.

Processing Jupiter Data From Start To Finish

This tutorial series by Damian Peach, walks you through the processing of a set of Jupiter image data from start to finish. In the first part of this series, Damian deals with the raw videos that are captured during a live session, and need to be processed to create the image stacks. This step is only needed if you do a planetary Live Session. If you work with Pro Datasets, then you can skip Part 1, as the images in Pro Datasets are pre-stacked by Damian. The data used in this tutorial are provided as a Pro Dataset in the Telescope Live platform. You can also download the associated dataset by clicking on the download link below. To start practicing, follow this tutorial and download a Jupiter Pro Dataset from your Dashboard. You can follow more in-depth tutorials from Damian on his own website: www.patreon.com/peachastro
